With the first generation iPad about to turn a year old, rumors of the next generation iPad or the iPad 2 as it is known now, have already started circulating.

A Chinese newspaper claims that according to “industry sources”, iPad 2 would feature as many as 5 new features.

Ultrasn0w For iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G Will Unlock All Basebands, Including iOS 4.2.1 Baseband 05.15.04

We had reported yesterday that iPhone Dev Team plans to release the eagerly awaited unlock for iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G for iOS 4.2.1 on Sunday.

However, it is not clear if the updated version of Ultrasn0w will unlock baseband 05.15.04 that was shipped with iOS 4.2.1.

AirVideoEnabler: Hack Enables AirPlay Video Streaming In All iOS Apps

When iOS 4.2.1 was released finally on Monday, we were disappointed to find out that the AirPlay feature was only available on the iPod app and YouTube app to stream audio and video content to the new Apple TV. It was possible to only stream audio from third party apps to the new Apple TV.

We were hoping to use AirPlay from all third party apps that implemented the video playback controller, which was possible in the first beta version of iOS 4.2.

Find My iPhone - the MobileMe service that lets users track their lost iPhone is now offered free with the latest iOS 4.2.1 update. This feature is available by default on the latest iOS models like iPhone 4, iPad or iPod Touch (4th generation).

However, if you are a user with an older model, it is possible to set up the location tracking feature on your iDevice provided you also have access to one of the newer models.

SlingPlayer Mobile for iPad Now Available In App Store

Slingplayer Just a week after we reported that SlingMedia was working on the SlingPlayer Mobile for the iPad, they have announced that the iPad version of the popular SlingPlayer Mobile application is now available for download from the App Store.

When Apple released the first beta version of iOS 4.2, we were excited about the AirPlay feature as it allowed users to stream content from apps like YouTube, Netflix, Mobile Safari that implemented the video playback controller to stream audio and video content to the new Apple TV.

iOS 4.2 Brings Accelerometer & WebSockets Support To Mobile Safari

Ever since they fell out with Adobe, Apple has been actively advocating the use of HTML5 and other open web standards among the developer community. The company is learned to have formed a "creative technology group" that has been building interactive content with these tools.

In June this year, Apple launched a new section on their website that showcased the capabilities of such web standards to users.
